Policy on Health Insurance
The University of Chicago requires all students to have health insurance, either through their parents or another plan. If the student is not covered by a parental plan, the Chicago grant will be increased to cover the basic student health plan.

Other Details
The cost of travel will vary depending on student location. For students who reside more than 150 miles from Chicago, the Office of College Aid will include a nominal travel allowance in the cost of attendance budget for travel costs.

The student contribution from savings varies depending on the total assets a student has. Typically, a student is expected to contribute one-fourth of the reported assets during each of the four years of undergraduate enrollment. Note that the student asset amount affects the total university grant offered.
