  • Interested in Engineering? Rice's George R. Brown School of Engineering offers degrees in 8 departments, including Bioengineering, Computational and Applied Mathematics, and Civil and Environmental Engineering. Learn more.

  • Interested in Nanotechnology? Recognized as a leading institution for Nanotechnology research since the pioneering work of Dr. Richard Smalley and Dr. Robert Curl, Rice is home to the Richard E. Smalley Institute for Nanoscale Science & Technology and is a member of the International Council on Nanotechnology. Rice students and faculty work together on nanoscale research in fields ranging from Environmental Engineering to cancer research.

  • Interested in being Pre-Med? Students interested in medical school may pursue any major while at Rice, in addition to completing a Pre-Med advisory track. With the Texas Medical Center (the largest medical center in the world) located right across the street, students have abundant opportunities to volunteer, intern, and conduct medical research while enrolled at Rice. Rice is in constant collaboration with institutions such as M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Baylor College of Medicine, home to the DeBakey Heart Center.

  • Interested in Business? Rice offers majors in Mathematical Economic Analysis, Economics, and Managerial Studies to prepare students for future work in business. Rice also offers a pre-business track for undergraduates, as well as graduate MBA program.
