Outside Scholarships
Outside scholarships may be used to reduce a student's work-study and summer work contributions. Scholarships that exceed the earnings requirements will be used reduce the Swarthmore grant.

Health Insurance
Swarthmore requires all students to have health insurance, either through their parents or another plan. If student is not covered by a parental plan, the Swarthmore grant will be increased to cover the the $874 student plan.

Other Details
Books & supplies, travel, and personal expenses will be subsidized by the student summer work and federal work-study contributions.

Students are expected to contribute 25% of their personal savings toward college expenses. This will be used to reduce the Swarthmore grant dollar for dollar.

The expected summer work contribution for the 2nd – 4th years will be $1,890.
