National College Match Requirements for:
Finalists who rank Columbia University

Deadline: November 1st
Please submit these materials as soon as you are notified you are a Finalist.

College Match Required Application and Financial Aid Materials
1. The Common Application with Columbia Writing Supplement and questions, or the Columbia First-Year Application, AND all supporting documents Submit along with official transcripts, Secondary School Report, and two teacher recommendations. 

Select the "Regular Decision" option (not "Early Decision").

The application fee will be waived for QuestBridge Finalists. In the application to Columbia, please select, "Yes, I qualify for one of Columbia University's fee waivers."
2. Official Test Scores

SAT code: 2116 (Columbia College or Columbia Engineering)
ACT code: 2717 (Columbia College or Columbia Engineering)

Request official scores from the College Board and/or ACT as soon as you are notified that you are a Finalist. Do NOT use the rush reporting service.

Columbia requires either the SAT and 2 SAT Subject Tests or the ACT Plus Writing. If applying to Columbia Engineering, you must take Math and either Physics, Ecological Biology, Molecular Biology or Chemistry SAT Subject Tests.

The last acceptable test dates for students applying for the College Match are in October.

2015-2016 CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE

If your parents are divorced or separated:

  • Your noncustodial parent must submit the online Noncustodial PROFILE using the login ID and password that will be emailed to you when you complete the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE.
  • Your noncustodial parent must also submit copies of their 2013 federal tax returns with all schedules, attachments, W-2 Forms, and other earnings statements. Submit directly to Columbia using this cover sheet.
  • If you do not have any contact with your noncustodial parent, then you may submit a request to waive the requirement of their financial information. Download the Noncustodial Parent Waiver Petition.
4. A copy of your parents’ 2013 federal income tax returns

Signed, with all schedules, attachments, W-2 forms and other earning statements. Include personal and corporate partnership tax returns. Submit directly to Columbia using this cover sheet.

Fax (preferred) or mail to the Office of Financial Aid (see contact info in Additional Info below).

 


Options following the Match for:
Finalists who ranked Columbia University

Early Decision Finalists who do not match may apply Early Decision to Columbia.

Applicants interested in Early Decision must carefully review Columbia's policy on Early Decision, as there is a binding agreement to attend if admitted. You may not apply to other colleges under any other Early Action or Early Decison programs and you must submit your request in writing to Columbia's Office of Undergraduate Admissions no later than December 3, 2014 (see contact info in Additional Info below).
Regular Decision All Finalists who rank Columbia for the College Match, but did not match to a binding college will automatically have their applications moved into the Regular Decision process.

If you no longer wish to be considered, you must contact the Admissions Office to withdraw your application (see contact info in Additional Info below).
