The CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE is administered by the College Board (the same organization that administers the SAT) and is required by most private colleges for all students applying for scholarships and financial aid whether they apply through QuestBridge or through the normal admission process. This form requires a fee to complete and submit it to the College Board. Please be aware that this fee is not paid to QuestBridge, but to the College Board, and it is a fee you will have to pay no matter how you apply to most private colleges. QuestBridge is not affiliated with the College Board.

According to the College Board:

All students are charged $25 for the initial application. This covers the costs of creating your PROFILE Application and the first school report. You will be charged $16 for each additional college or program to which you want information sent. This covers the cost of processing and reporting your information to those colleges and programs. A limited number of fee waivers are granted to first-time college applicants from families with very low incomes and few assets. The fee waiver covers the cost of PROFILE registration and reporting to up to six colleges or programs. Fee waivers are awarded automatically online based on family financial information. You don't need to apply for a fee waiver.

Because the CSS PROFILE is a detailed application, we encourage students to start working on it well in advance of the submission deadline. However, we recommend that students wait to submit it to colleges until they are notified of their finalist status. If not chosen as a finalist, students can wait until they have decided where to apply through early or regular decision before submitting it.
