College Match Process & Requirements

 liaison megan

college-matchThe National College Match allows you to apply early to up to 8 partner colleges and rank them in order of preference. You would “match” to the highest school that appears on your ranked list that also wants to admit you through the College Match. It is important to understand the unique elements of the College Match before you decide to apply:

  • All partner colleges offer binding admission* through the Match with the exception of MIT, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale.
  • Matches will receive a guaranteed full four-year scholarship to attend the school.
  • The College Match is highly competitive and only a select number will match to a school; many others may be admitted through Regular Decision with outstanding financial aid.
  • If you are matched, you can only match to one school and you will not be informed of the admissions outcomes of other schools on your ranking list.
  • Applicants who rank schools for the College Match cannot apply early elsewhere. Please review the Early Application Policy for details and exceptions.

College Match Finalists who rank colleges are also eligible to receive fee waivers for the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE.

*Binding admission means that you must attend the college and are required to withdraw applications to other colleges. If you are matched with a non-binding college, you can still apply to other colleges through Regular Decision.
