National College Match Requirements for:
Finalists who rank University of Pennsylvania

Please submit these materials as soon as you are notified you are a Finalist.

FAQ (for College Match participants only)

College Match Required Application and Financial Aid Materials
Deadline: November 1
1. The Common Application with Penn Writing Supplement, and all supporting documents

Submit along with official transcripts, Secondary School Report, and two teacher recommendations. 

Select the "Regular Decision" option on the Common Application (not "Early Decision").

Students may use one of their QuestBridge application essays for the Common Application essay, BUT must write an original essay for the Penn Writing Supplement. 

There is a question on the Penn section of the Common Application that asks if you are requesting a fee waiver as a QuestBridge Finalist. Respond "Yes" and provide your 9-digit QuestBridge ID number to have your fee waived.

2. Official Test Scores

SAT code: 2926
ACT code: 3732

Request official scores from the College Board and/or ACT. Do NOT use the rush reporting service.

Penn requires either the SAT or ACT.  Penn recommends 2 SAT Subject Tests. 

Note for students taking the SAT: Applicants to the School of Engineering and Applied Science or the Wharton School are encouraged to take a Mathematics SAT Subject Test. Applicants interested in science-related fields (including engineering or nursing) are encouraged to take a science SAT Subject Test.

Official Transcripts

The transcript submitted to QuestBridge cannot be used in place of an official transcript.  Please have your guidance counselor or registrar submit your official transcript directly to the Office of Admissions (see Contact Info below).

2016-2017 CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE

If your parents are divorced or separated:

  • Your noncustodial parent must submit the online Noncustodial PROFILE using the login ID and password that will be emailed to you when you complete the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE.
  • Your noncustodial parent must also submit copies of their 2014 federal tax returns with all schedules, attachments, W-2 Forms, and other earnings statements. Submit directly to Penn using this cover sheet.
  • If you do not have any contact with your noncustodial parent, then you may submit a request to waive the requirement of their financial information. Download the Noncustodial Parent Waiver Petition.
4. A copy of your parents’ 2014 federal income tax returns

Signed, with all schedules, attachments, W-2 forms and other earning statements. Include personal and corporate partnership tax returns. Also include copies of your parents' recent paystubs or other verification of current-year income. Submit directly to Penn using this cover sheet.

Options following the Match for:
Finalists who ranked University of Pennsylvania

Early Decision Finalists who do not match may apply Early Decision to Penn. 

Information on applying to Early Decision to Penn will be provided to you directly by Penn. 
Regular Decision All Finalists who rank Penn for the College Match, but did not match to a binding college will automatically have their applications moved into the Regular Decision process. Please submit an updated transcript and any relevant updates.

Regular Decision Requirements:

Step 1: Select Penn on the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form on your Application Management page between November 5 - December 9. Only check the box if you fully intend to submit a complete application to Penn.
Step 2:             Submit all additional required application and financial materials to Penn according to your status by the deadlines listed below.
