Who We Are Looking For

Successful QuestBridge applicants are academically high-achieving students who have experienced long-term financial hardship.

You can refer students to us by filling out this form.

QuestBridge seeks students who have demonstrated a level of academic achievement that meets the admissions standards of our partner colleges. These are students whom you can envision thriving on the campus of a leading college. In addition, students must demonstrate evidence of financial hardship and obstacles they have overcome.

While there are no absolute academic or financial cut-offs, successful applicants usually fulfill these characteristics:

  • They are in the top 5% or 10% of their class.
  • They have received mostly A’s grades in the most rigorous classes.
  • They have scored >1250 (Critical Reading +Math) on the SAT or >27 (Composite) on the ACT.
  • Their household income is less than $65,000 a year, and often less for a typical family of four.
  • Often they are among the first generation in their family to attend college.
  • They are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch.

In order to be successful QuestBridge applicants, students must meet both academic and financial criteria.

Please review the Who Should Apply to the College Prep Scholarship and Who Should Apply to the National College Match for detailed eligibility and selection criteria for each of these programs.
