About Us

Q: Why should a low-income student apply to QuestBridge?

A: "To me, it's a no-brainer. The application itself helps to level what is a very uneven playing field. The application offers the opportunity for them to explain to us any situations that might not come out in a conventional application. It can help us to better understand compelling circumstances."

National College Match Application

The information on this page concerns the fall 2007 College Match application cycle. Information for the 2008 College Match will be posted in August. In the interim, please feel free to review this page for general background, as the outlines of the program will remain broadly consistent. Instructions

  1. Download and read the application checklist and instructions (PDF file).

  2. Check Selection Criteria for the National College Match.

  3. Review our partner colleges and look over the test requirements and National College Match application requirements for all colleges that you intend on applying to.

  4. Sign up for a QuestBridge account.

  5. Complete the following steps as soon as possible:

    • Open your QuestBridge application and review the questions, especially the essay questions, so that you can begin to think about your responses.

    • Generate recommendation forms and give them to your recommenders as early as possible, preferably during the first week of school.

      • Open your QuestBridge application and enter information for the two teachers who will write your Teacher Recommendations and the counselor who will write your Secondary School Report. These forms will then appear in printable format on your My Locker page.

      • Print the recommendation forms from your My Locker page and give them to the teachers and counselor who will complete them.

    • Ask your high school to submit an official copy of your school transcript and standardized test scores via fax to QuestBridge using the designated fax coversheet provided on your My Locker page.

    • Assemble necessary documentation (transcripts, test score reports, most recent tax returns) that you will need to complete the application.

  6. Complete the online QuestBridge student application.

    • As part of the application, you will need to rank the colleges that you want to have consider you for admission and the National College Match scholarship. It is important to note that you should only rank the colleges that you are certain you would want to attend if awarded admission and a full scholarship. You may rank as few as one college or as many as 8 of QuestBridge's 20 partner colleges.

  7. Submit the QuestBridge application by September 30, 2007 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. All of the following elements should be submitted by this deadline:

    • Student application

    • Two Teacher Recommendations

    • Secondary School Report

    • Transcript and test score reports
