National College Match Requirements for:
Finalists who rank Yale University

Deadline: November 1st
Please submit these materials as soon as you are notified you are a Finalist.

College Match Required Application and Financial Aid Materials
1. The Common Application with Yale-specific questions, and all supporting documents Submit along with official transcripts, Secondary School Report, and two teacher recommendations. 

Please reuse your QuestBridge essays.

Select the "Regular Decision" option on the Common Application (not "Restrictive Early Action").

Indicate at least one indicator of economic need on the Common Application to have the application fee waived.
2. Official Test Scores

Request official scores from the College Board and/or ACT as soon as you are notified that you are a Finalist. Do NOT use the rush reporting service.

Yale requires either the SAT and 2 SAT Subject Tests or the ACT Plus Writing. All SAT and SAT Subject Tests or all ACT tests taken must be reported.

All testing must be completed by October for consideration in the College Match. The last acceptable ACT test date for students applying through the College Match process is September 13. The last acceptable SAT test date for students applying through the College Match process is October 11.

If your parents own a business or farm:

  • Submit the CSS Financial Aid/PROFILE Business/Farm Supplement.


If your parents are divorced or separated:

  • Your noncustodial parent must submit the online Noncustodial PROFILE using the login ID and password that will be emailed to you when you complete the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE.
  • Your noncustodial parent must also submit copies of their 2013 federal tax returns with all schedules, attachments, W-2 Forms, and other earnings statements. Submit directly to Yale using this cover sheet.
  • If you do not have any contact with your noncustodial parent, then you may submit a request to waive the requirement of their financial information. Download the Noncustodial Parent Waiver Petition>.
4. A copy of your parents’ 2013 federal income tax returns

Signed, with all schedules, attachments, W-2 forms and other earning statements. Include personal and corporate partnership tax returns. Submit directly to Yale using this cover sheet.

Mail or fax to the Student Financial Services Office (see contact info in Additional Info below).

 


Options following the Match for:
Finalists who ranked Yale University

Single-Choice Early Action Finalists who do not match cannot be considered for admission through Single-Choice Early Action to Yale, but instead will be automatically considered in the Regular Decision process.
Regular Decision All Finalists who rank Yale for the College Match, but did not match to a binding college will automatically have their applications moved into the Regular Decision process.

If you no longer wish to be considered, you must contact the Admissions Office to withdraw your application (see contact info in Additional Info below).
