Finalists who rank Yale University

Please submit these materials as soon as you are notified you are a Finalist.

College Match Required Application and Financial Aid Materials
Deadline: November 1
1. The Common Application with Yale-specific questions, and all supporting documents Submit the Common Application and Yale-specific questions, along with official transcripts, Secondary School Report, and two teacher recommendations. 

Please reuse your QuestBridge essays and note that the Common Application has a word limit which may require editing.

Select the "Regular Decision" option on the Common Application (not "Restrictive Early Action").

Indicate at least one indicator of economic need on the Common Application to have the application fee waived.
2. Official Test Scores

Request official scores from the College Board and/or ACT. Do NOT use the rush reporting service.

Testing must be completed by October for consideration in the College Match.

All SAT or all ACT tests taken must be reported.

Yale requires either the SAT (Critical Reading, Math and Writing) or the ACT Plus Writing.

SAT Subject Tests are recommended, not required.  Applicants who do not take SAT Subject Tests will not be disadvantaged in the application process. Although Yale does not participate in score choice for the SAT, we do participate in score choice for Subject Tests.

TOEFL is recommended for non-native English speakers who have not spent at least two years in an English-language secondary school.

3. Official Transcripts

Submit electronically through the Common Application or by fax (203) 436-9775.  Do not mail official transcripts.


2016-2017 CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE

If your parents are divorced or separated:

  • Your noncustodial parent must submit the online Noncustodial PROFILE using the login ID and password that will be emailed to you when you complete the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE.
  • Your noncustodial parent must also submit copies of their 2014 federal tax returns with all schedules, attachments, W-2 Forms, and other earnings statements. Submit directly to Yale using this cover sheet.  OR, if your parent is not required according to IRS guidelines, complete the Noncustodial Tax Nonfiling Statement.
  • If you do not have any contact with your noncustodial parent, then you may submit a request to waive the requirement of their financial information. Download the Noncustodial Parent Waiver Petition.
4. A copy of your parents’ 2014 federal income tax returns
  • Signed, with all schedules, attachments, W-2 forms and other earning statements. If your parents own a business or farm, include partnership and/or corporate tax returns. Submit directly to Yale using this cover sheet.
  • Copies of your parents' recent paystubs or other verification of current-year income.
  • OR, if your parents are not required according to IRS guidelines, complete the Parent Tax Nonfiling Statement.

Options following the Match for:
Finalists who ranked Yale University

Single-Choice Early Action Finalists who do not match cannot be considered for admission through Single-Choice Early Action to Yale, but instead will be automatically considered in the Regular Decision process.
Regular Decision All Finalists who rank Yale for the College Match, but did not match to a binding college will automatically have their applications moved into the Regular Decision process. Please submit updated transcripts and any relevant updates. 

If you no longer wish to be considered, you must contact the Admissions Office to withdraw your application (see Contact Info below).


Regular Decision Requirements:

Step 1: Select Yale on the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form on your Application Management page between November 5 - December 9. Only check the box if you fully intend to submit a complete application to Yale.
Step 2:             Submit all additional required application and financial materials to Yale according to your status by the deadlines listed below.
