Finalists who rank Stanford University

If you are a Finalist who ranked Stanford University, your National College Match application will be sent to Stanford University, and you will need to submit the following requirements to the school by November 1. If you have questions after reviewing the information below, please reach out to the school directly.

Requirements

Stanford University Application Status Portal Activation

QuestBridge will send Finalists’ applications to college partners on October 21, and Stanford University may need a couple of days to import them into their system. Once processed, Stanford University will then email you instructions to log in and activate your applicant portal, where you can track the status of the materials you submit.

Stanford Supplement to the QuestBridge Application

After your QuestBridge Application has been received, Stanford will email you instructions on how to access your Stanford portal and complete the required supplement.

Test Scores
Self-Reported or Official Reports

Beginning with the 2025–2026 application cycle, Stanford will require ACT or SAT scores for all students submitting applications. Please self-report your test score(s) in either your QuestBridge application or your Stanford QuestBridge supplement.  If you are admitted and choose to enroll, and you self-reported ACT or SAT scores, official score reports will be required.

AP exams are not mandatory; however, if you have taken any AP exams, you are required to self-report all your AP scores in either your QuestBridge application or your Stanford QuestBridge supplement.

2026-2027 CSS Profile

Required for all applicants. Please select "Regular Decision" as your admission application type. If you have already submitted your CSS profile under a different application type such as Early Action, Stanford will still receive it and you do not need to change this. 

Please visit Stanford’s Frequently Asked Questions, specifically the "Applicants for Undergraduate Admission" Questions #6 and #7, for more information about how to fill out forms if your parents are divorced or separated, or if you do not have contact with your non-custodial parent.

2024 Federal Tax Returns and Forms

After you have submitted your CSS Profile, you will receive an email from College Scholarship Service (CSS) with instructions for completing the IDOC process.

2026-2027 FAFSA

Submit as soon as available

The FAFSA will open in the fall. Please complete the FAFSA as soon as it is available and submit it directly to Stanford by February 15.

U.S. Citizens and Eligible Noncitizens.

  • To directly transfer your family’s tax information to the FAFSA application, use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool Step by step instructions are available here.
  • If you choose not to complete this step, the Financial Aid Office may request  an IRS tax transcript in order to complete your application. 

If you are undocumented:

Regular Decision

Applications from Finalists who rank Stanford and but do not match to a binding college will automatically be considered in Stanford's Regular Decision round. You can report any new accomplishments or life changes through the QuestBridge Optional Update Form, due January 19. Stanford Admissions will email you in early December with instructions on how to submit this form. Stanford Admissions will also look forward to receiving your midyear transcript, which is due on or before February 15.

Regular Decision Requirements:

Step 1: Select Stanford University on the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form on your Application Management page between November 4 - December 11. Only check the box if you fully intend to submit a complete application to Stanford University (including all of the materials detailed in the table below).

Step 2: Activate your Stanford University Applicant Portal. QuestBridge will send Finalists’ applications to Stanford University on December 16 and Stanford University may need a couple days to import them into their system. Use the Stanford University applicant portal, sent to you via email, to track the status of your materials you submit to Stanford University.

Step 3: Submit all additional required application and financial materials by the applicable deadlines directly to Stanford University as detailed in the table below.
