Supporting journeys to a career in medicine

Through the Graduate School Scholarship in Medicine, QuestBridge Scholars and Alumni can apply for a four-year scholarship that funds up to the full cost of tuition at our medical school partner.

We believe that the high cost of medical school should not be a barrier for aspiring physicians from low-income backgrounds — especially for QuestBridge Alumni who have already demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, resilience, and leadership despite facing financial challenges. Graduating from the nation’s top colleges and universities and hailing from across the country, QuestBridge Alumni bring strong academic foundations, rigor, and important perspectives to their careers. This scholarship is designed to remove financial obstacles for these bright and driven students, empowering them to pursue their passion for medicine, make a meaningful impact on the health of their communities, and build professional networks to help them thrive in a career they love.

You are eligible for the Graduate School Scholarship in Medicine if you: 

  • Are a QuestBridge Alum (a National College Match Finalist who graduated from a QuestBridge college partner); or a current QuestBridge Scholar
  • Are applying to medical school during the summer of 2025 for enrollment in 2026
  • Have a strong academic profile
  • Have taken the MCAT within five years of your medical school application
  • Meet the course prerequisites and technical standards of our medical school partner

How to apply

Applying to the 2025 Graduate School Scholarship in Medicine complements the AMCAS® application process. The QuestBridge Medicine School Supplement will be available through our website from June 1 - July 1, 2025.

Applicants will be considered for up to full-tuition scholarships at Tufts University School of Medicine. Applicants who graduated with a degree in any major are eligible to apply as long as they meet all course prerequisites and satisfy the technical standards.

Applying for the Graduate School Scholarship in Medicine with QuestBridge is a streamlined process that takes place over the spring and summer. Here's how to get started: 

Have you taken the MCAT? 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must have taken the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) and submitted their scores as part of the AMCAS® application. Explore free MCAT support through the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC)

Prepare your AMCAS® application

Begin by completing your AMCAS®  (American Medical College Application Service® ) application, which opens in May. Include Tufts University School of Medicine as one of your selected schools.  Submit your AMCAS® application by July 1, 2025, for priority review. The final deadline is November 1, 2025.

Complete the QuestBridge Medical School Supplement

Between June 1 and July 1, 2025, complete the QuestBridge Medical School Supplement. If you have issues logging in, email us at [email protected]

QuestBridge will forward your Medical School Supplement to Tufts, confirming your status as a QuestBridge Scholar to be considered for the scholarship.

Submit your Tufts Secondary Application

After completing the QuestBridge Medical School Supplement, submit the Tufts Secondary Application by September 1, 2025, for priority review. All letters of recommendation, final MCAT score, and transcript verification must be complete as well. The final deadline is December 30, 2025.

Receive admission and scholarship decisions

Tufts will review your admission application and QuestBridge Medical School Supplement and notify you directly about admission and scholarship decisions according to their published timeline.

This program provides up to a full-tuition scholarship to our QuestBridge medical school partner, exclusively for QuestBridge Alumni. It supports outstanding students from low-income backgrounds who are admitted to medical school. Scholarship decisions are made by and funded by the medical school partner.

You are eligible for the Graduate School Scholarship in Medicine if you meet the following criteria:

  • Are a QuestBridge Alum (a National College Match Finalist who graduated from a QuestBridge college partner); or a current QuestBridge Scholar
  • Are applying to medical school during the summer of 2025 for enrollment in 2026
  • Have a strong academic profile
  • Have taken the MCAT within five years of your medical school application
  • Meet the course prerequisites and technical standards of our medical school partner

QuestBridge Alumni who are applying to medical school in the upcoming cycle are eligible to apply. Applicants should have completed the required coursework, testing, and clinical experiences expected of medical school candidates. Additionally, applicants must have taken the MCAT within five years of their application.

This program provides up to a full-tuition scholarship, but students should apply through the university financial aid office to receive additional financial support.

After submitting the QuestBridge Medical School Supplement and your Tufts Secondary Application, you will be notified directly from the school according to their regular admissions processing timelines.
