Vanderbilt School of Choice Form

After your QuestBridge College Match application has been forwarded to Vanderbilt, you will receive instructions on how to create a MyAppVU account. Once you have created your account, complete the Vanderbilt School of Choice Form within the MyAppVU portal. You will use the School of Choice Form to indicate whether you are applying to Vanderbilt’s College of Arts & Science, School of Engineering or Peabody College of Education and Human Development. National College Match candidates may not apply to the Blair School of Music. Students must complete the School of Choice form in order to be considered for admission to Vanderbilt.

Request official scores from the College Board and/or ACT. Do NOT use the rush reporting service. If your QuestBridge application included test scores submitted by your counselor, Vanderbilt will use those as official test score reports. 

All College Match applicants must submit one of the following:

  • SAT
  • ACT

The writing sections of the SAT and ACT are optional.

International Students: TOEFL or IELTS is required for non-native English speakers. This requirement will be waived if a student has scored above a 600 on the Old SAT Critical Reading (administered prior to March 2018), above a 33 on the new SAT Reading Test (administered March 2018 and later), above a 26 on the ACT English section, or has had at least two years of schooling in the English language.

SAT II Subject Tests, Advanced Placement (AP) Exams, and International Baccalaureate (IB) Exams are not required. If official scores are sent to Vanderbilt, they may be considered during the application review process.

3 Official Transcripts

If your QuestBridge application included a transcript submitted by your counselor, Vanderbilt will use it as your official transcript. Updated transcripts may be submitted directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by email, fax, or mail. (See Contact Information below).

Options following the Match

Early Decision

Finalists who do not match may apply Early Decision to Vanderbilt through Early Decision II. Applicants interested in Early Decision II must send an email to admissions@vanderbilt.edu by January 1, 2019 to request their decision plan be changed to Early Decision II.

Finalists who did not rank any colleges and who are interested in being considered for an Early Decision plan must send an email to admissions@vanderbilt.edu by November 1, 2018 to be considered for Early Decision I, or by January 1, 2019 to be considered for Early Decision II.

Regular Decision

All Finalists who rank Vanderbilt for the College Match, but did not match to a binding college will be automatically rolled over to Regular Decision. 

Regular Decision Requirements:

Step 1: Select Vanderbilt on the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form on your Application Management page between November 5 - December 10. Only check the box if you fully intend to submit a complete application to Vanderbilt (including all of the materials detailed in the table below).

Step 2: Submit all additional required application and financial materials to Vanderbilt according to your status by the deadlines listed below.

Vanderbilt School of Choice Form  

If a student submits the QuestBridge application or the Coalition Application, the student will receive emailed instructions on how to create a MyAppVU account. Once the student has created an account, the student will complete the Vanderbilt School of Choice Form within the MyAppVU portal.

If a student submits the Common Application, the Vanderbilt supplement will appear once the student selects Vanderbilt in their college list.
