QuestBridge Scholars Network at Amherst
The Amherst College QSN Chapter provides a welcoming and supportive community for its members. QuestBridge Scholars can engage in chapter activities, apply for leadership positions, and participate in opportunities offered nationwide through QuestBridge, including access to QuestBridge Alumni Association resources.
Founded in 2003, the Amherst QSN Chapter hosts events, small-group discussions, outings, and volunteer service. Dedicated to building a support network, the chapter has offered small-group mentoring through “Quest Families,” which foster supportive relationships and a sense of community.
The chapter has also collaborated with the Admission Office and the Office of Student Affairs to help new students in their transition to college. In past years, the Amherst QSN Chapter has hosted an event called the “The Quest for Belonging,” during which students shared their first semester experiences of community in relation to their socioeconomic backgrounds as QuestBridge Scholars.
In addition to group activities, there are always opportunities for underclassmen to get involved in chapter leadership and initiatives. Each year, newly appointed chapter leaders and Executive Board members work together to plan new programming to ensure chapter members feel welcomed and engaged.
