Fun Fact: Case Western Reserve University’s long name is the result of the 1967 federation between the Case Institute of Technology (renowned for science and engineering) and Western Reserve University (a highly regarded liberal arts university). Each year, CWRU students celebrate Western Reserve’s 1910 move from Hudson, Ohio, to Cleveland with the Hudson Relays, a 26-mile relay race where classes compete for bragging rights and the chance for a steak dinner with the university president.
