Finalists who rank UVA
If you are a Finalist who ranked UVA, your National College Match application will be sent to UVA, and you will need to submit the following requirements to the school by November 1. If you have questions after reviewing the information below, please reach out to the school directly.
Requirements
University of Virginia Application Status Portal Activation
QuestBridge will send Finalists’ applications to college partners on October 21, and University of Virginia may need a couple of days to import them into their system. Once processed, UVA will then email you instructions to log in and activate your applicant portal, where you can track the status of the materials you submit.
Complete the UVA QuestBridge Questionnaire which will be located within your MyUVA Application Portal. The questionnaire asks basic information that is unique to UVA. There are no additional essays except for students applying to the School of Nursing.
UVA requires an official high school transcript. If you did not submit official copies to QuestBridge, your counselor should email them directly to UVA at [email protected].
UVA is test-optional for those applying for admission for Fall 2026. You'll have the choice of sharing or not sharing results from the SAT and ACT. Whichever path you choose, UVA will consider your application with care and respect, and you won't be disadvantaged because of the choice you've made.
If you choose to submit test scores, UVA will use self-reported scores (SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS) for the application evaluation process.
The TOEFL or IELTS is recommended for any student who is not a native English speaker.
Official scores are required for those that chose to enroll at UVA if submitting testing.

If your parents are separated or divorced and/or no longer live together, after your custodial parent has submitted the Profile your non-custodial parent should submit the CSS Profile. If that will not be possible, please visit the Student Financial Services website for options.
2024 Federal Tax Returns and Forms
via QuestBridge DocSign Form
Submit federal tax return(s)—signed, with all schedules, attachments, W-2 forms and other earning statements—using the QuestBridge DocuSign Form.
Be sure to pick the version of the QuestBridge DocuSign Form that is appropriate to your dependency status—either dependent or independent—by answering the questions found in the QuestBridge DocuSign Form instructions. If independent, you may be asked to attach a court order or other documentation of your independent status before submitting the form.
2026-2027 FAFSA

The FAFSA will open in the fall. Please complete the FAFSA as soon as it is available and submit it directly to UVA.
Finalists who ranked UVA, submitted the UVA QuestBridge Questionnaire, and who do not match will automatically receive an Early Action admission decision by mid-February when decisions are released. You should not select UVA on your QustBridge Regular Decision form and should not submit a Common Application. Please note, UVA’s Early Action is non-binding.
If you no longer wish to be considered, you must login to your MyUVA Application Portal and complete the Withdraw Form.
If you ranked UVA but did not submit the UVA QuestBridge Questionnaire in your MyUVA Application Portal, you do not have an active application with UVA. If you wish to apply with your QuestBridge application, you can be considered for Regular Decision if you fill out the UVA QuestBridge Questionnaire in your MyUVA Application Portal by January 5. Do not submit a Common Application if you have already sent your QuestBridge application to UVA.
Regular Decision Requirements:
Step 1: Select UVA on the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form on your Application Management page between November 4 - December 11. Only check the box if you fully intend to submit a complete application to UVA (including all of the materials detailed in the table below).
Step 2: Activate your UVA Applicant Portal. QuestBridge will send Finalists’ applications to UVA on December 16 and UVA may need a couple days to import them into their system. Use the UVA applicant portal, sent to you via email, to track the status of your materials you submit to UVA.
Step 3: Submit all additional required application and financial materials by the applicable deadlines directly to UVA as detailed in the table below.

After your QuestBridge Application has been forwarded to UVA, you will receive follow-up instructions by email on how to log in to your MyUVA Application Portal.
