The Common Application with UVA-specific questions, and all supporting documents

Submit along with official transcripts, Secondary School Report, and one academic teacher recommendation.

Indicate that you are a QuestBridge applicant and select "Fee Waiver" as type of payment to have your fee waived.

Select "Early Action" on the Common Application for your admission plan.

Official Transcripts

Transcripts should be sent directly from your high school. Only official transcripts are accepted.

Standardized Test Scores
SAT code: 5820
ACT code: 4412

UVA will use self-reported scores (SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS) for the application evaluation process.

SAT II Subject Tests are not required. The TOEFL is recommended for any student who is not a native English speaker.

Only official scores will be required for those that chose to enroll at UVA.

If your parents are separated or divorced, submit a 2019-2020 UVA Non-Custodial Parent Form. If you are unable to complete this form, submit a signed statement to explain why to the Student Financial Services Office at UVA.

A copy of your parents’ 2017 federal income tax returns

Signed, with all schedules, attachments, W-2 forms and other earning statements. Include personal and corporate partnership tax returns. Submit directly to the Student Financial Services Office at UVA using this cover sheet.

  • 2017 W-2 forms, Form 1099s, or other income statements
  • Signed copy of your 2017 federal income tax returns including all attachments and schedules
  • If you are an emancipated minor, an orphan, a ward of the court, in legal guardianship, or have been designated an unaccompanied, homeless youth, please submit a copy of the court order (if applicable) and any other supporting documentation, such as a letter signed by an appropriate authority, to verify your status.

Options following the Match

Early Action

Finalists who do not match will automatically receive an Early Action admission decision in late January when decisions are released, provided they have submitted all required pieces of the application including the Common Application.

If you no longer wish to be considered for Early Action, you must contact UVA to withdraw your application (see Contact Information below).

Regular Decision

If you ranked UVA and submitted your Common Application by the November 1st deadline, but did not receive an Early Action decision, please see the contact information below to verify the status of your application. 

Regular Decision Requirements:

Step 1: Select UVA on the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form on your Application Management page between November 5 - December 10. Only check the box if you fully intend to submit a complete application to UVA (including all of the materials detailed in the table below).

Step 2: UVA will not accept the QuestBridge application for Regular Decision. You must submit the Common Application, all supporting documents and the materials listed below to be considered for Regular Decision through the Common Application website.
