Policy Regarding Outside Funding
Outside funding reduces or eliminates the Work-Study expectation and/or student summer earnings contribution. Outside funding is then used to reduce Williams grant, dollar for dollar. Students may use outside funding to purchase a computer, if needed.

Policy on Health Insurance
If a student enrolls in the college plan because they have no insurance or their health insurance does not meet the college’s requirements, a health insurance grant will be provided as part of the Williams funding.

Policy on Travel Allowance
The travel allowance, which is built in to the student award, should cover the cost of two round trips between home and campus. Travel expenses are paid with summer and work-study earnings. Students may book travel through the college and charge their trip to their student bill in order to pay with work-study earnings.

Requirements Associated with Maintaining this Award
Students must maintain the academic progress requirements expected of Williams students.

Other Details
A book grant will be provided as part of the Williams funding to cover the cost of required books. Students have no out of pocket costs for books.

Summer work contribution will increase to $1,300 in sophomore, junior, and senior years. All students can remove their summer work expectation for one summer and may also request a waiver, if appropriate, for a second summer.
