Students may use outside funding such as private scholarships or student loans to purchase technology needed for learning while they are at Williams. They may use up to $5,000 over their career. Outside funding is then used to reduce Williams grant, dollar for dollar.
If a student enrolls in the college plan because they have no insurance or their health insurance does not meet the college’s requirements, a health insurance grant will be provided as part of the Williams funding.
The travel allowance, which is built into the financial aid offer, should cover the cost of two round trips between home and campus at the beginning and end of each semester. Students may book travel through the college (Egencia) and charge their trip to their student bill or pay independently and get reimbursed from their student account once the semester begins.
Students are not required to contribute towards their Williams costs from their summer earnings. Instead, we replace their summer earnings expectation with Williams Grant.
Students must maintain the academic progress requirements expected of Williams students.
A book grant will be provided as part of the Williams funding to cover the cost of required books. Students have no out-of-pocket costs for books.
