Introduction to Wharton

Located in the vibrant city of Philadelphia, students at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania gain a strong foundation of business knowledge and have the opportunity to pursue their passions. Each MBA class is divided into four clusters with its own support system, culture, community, and mascot. These clusters are further broken down into cohorts of approximately 70 students. Students will get to know members of their cohort through core classes and cluster events.

Wharton’s rigorous yet flexible curriculum consists of fixed and flexible core courses that cover traditional management disciplines. Students further cultivate their expertise by selecting a concentration from 21 majors, and can choose from over 200 elective courses across Wharton and the University of Pennsylvania.

From Analytics Club, Global Impact Consultants, to Coffee Club, Wharton students can find groups that align with their unique social, cultural, and professional interests. Wharton’s Student Life team gets to know students and their goals and offers advice on how to maximize their Wharton experience. The Wharton Graduate 1Gen Club nurtures a community among students who share first-generation, low-income backgrounds.

Wharton’s MBA Career Management team is dedicated to connecting students with a wide range of employers, ranging from the Fortune 500 companies to start-ups. The MBA Career Management team provides personalized support to guide students on their path to internships and full-time success. Upon graduation, Wharton’s Lifelong Learning programs and Wharton Global Forums provide career education resources and networking opportunities for all Wharton alumni throughout their professional lives.
