Official Test Scores

Request official scores from the College Board and/or ACT. Do NOT use the rush reporting service. Oberlin requires either an official score report from the testing agency or the inclusion of your test scores on your official high school transcript. 

Oberlin requires the SAT or the ACT. Oberlin will accept scores from the old or the redesigned SAT. Optional essay sections are not required.

Applicants enrolled in a home school curriculum must take 2 additional SAT Subject Tests or ACT Plus Writing.

2 Official Transcripts Transcript uploaded to the QuestBridge application are accepted as official, or your high school counselor can send transcripts directly to the Admissions Office (see Contact Information below).

If your parents are divorced or separated:

  • Your noncustodial parent must also submit copies of their 2015 federal income tax returns, signed with all schedules, attachments, W-2 forms and other earning statements.
  • If you do not have any contact with your noncustodial parent, then you may submit a request to waive the requirement of their financial information. Download the Noncustodial Parent Waiver Petition.

Options following the Match

Early Decision

Finalists who do not match may apply Early Decision to Oberlin through Early Decision II.

Applicants interested in Early Decision II must email the Admissions Office at college.admissions@oberlin.edu by January 1 to be considered.

Regular Decision

Follow the instructions below to apply through Regular Decision.

Regular Decision Requirements:

Step 1: Select Oberlin on the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form on your Application Management page between November 7 - December 11. Only check the box if you fully intend to submit a complete application to Oberlin.

Step 2: Submit all additional required application and financial materials to Oberlin according to your status by the deadlines listed below.
