Standardized Test Scores

Oberlin requires the SAT or the ACT. Oberlin will accept scores from the old or the redesigned SAT. Optional essay sections are not required.

Oberlin can use self-reported SAT and ACT scores to evaluate an application for admission, but will require official SAT or ACT scores for all admitted and enrolling students.

  • Your noncustodial parent must also submit copies of their 2017 federal income tax returns, signed with all schedules, attachments, W-2 forms and other earning statements.
  • If you do not have any contact with your noncustodial parent, then you may submit a request to waive the requirement of their financial information. Download the Noncustodial Parent Waiver Petition.

Options following the Match

Early Decision

Finalists who do not match may apply Early Decision to Oberlin through Early Decision II.

Applicants interested in Early Decision II must email the Admissions Office at college.admissions@oberlin.edu by January 1 to be considered.

Regular Decision

Follow the instructions below to apply through Regular Decision.

Regular Decision Requirements:

Step 1: Select Oberlin on the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form on your Application Management page between November 5 - December 10. Only check the box if you fully intend to submit a complete application to Oberlin (including all of the materials detailed in the table below).

Step 2: Submit all additional required application and financial materials by the applicable deadlines directly to Oberlin as detailed in the table below.
