College Match Required Application Materials

One consortium application (The Coalition Application or The Common Application), with the UChicago Supplement AND all supporting documents

You must submit one consortium application (The Coalition Application or The Common Application) online. Submit along with an official transcript, Secondary School Report, and two teacher recommendations. The University of Chicago Supplement (available through the Coalition Application, the Common Application, and your UChicago Account) requires one short essay on why you would like to attend the University of Chicago, and one extended essay on your choice from a list of six prompts.

Select the “Early Action” option (not “Early Decision I”, “Regular Decision”, or “Early Decision II”) on your consortium application and your UChicago Account.

The University of Chicago does not charge an application fee for students applying for need-based financial aid. Please indicate that you intend to apply for need-based financial aid on your consortium application.

UChicago requires the SAT or the ACT (Writing not required). SAT Subject Tests are not required.

UChicago will review the applications of students who attend high schools within the U.S. using self-reported SAT or ACT scores. You are able to self-report test scores through the Coalition or Common Application.

Students will be required to submit official score reports after they are admitted and choose to enroll at UChicago. When you request official scores from the College Board and/or ACT, do NOT use the rush reporting service. If official test scores are included on your official high school transcript, you will not need to submit any additional test score information to UChicago.

TOEFL or IELTS is required for non-native English speakers who have not spent at least two years in an English-language school.

A copy of your parents’ 2016 federal income tax returns

Signed, with all schedules and W-2 forms. Include personal and corporate partnership tax returns. Submit directly to UChicago using this cover sheet.

Tax documents can be uploaded through your UChicago Account*, mailed, or faxed to the Office of Financial Aid (see Contact Information below).

Early Action

Finalists who do not match will automatically receive an Early Action admission decision.

Regular Decision Requirements:

Step 1: Select UChicago on the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form on your Application Management page between November 6 - December 11. Only check the box if you fully intend to submit a complete application to UChicago (including all of the materials detailed in the table below).

Step 2: Submit all additional required application and financial materials to UChicago according to your status by the deadlines listed below.
