Fun facts: First, USC’s athletic teams adopted the Trojan as a mascot in 1912, after a Los Angeles Times sportswriter likened the fighting spirit of USC athletes to that of the ancient Trojans. Second, As of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Trojan athletes earned 309 Olympic medals, more than any other university in the country.
