Official Test Scores

Williams requires the SAT (without optional essay) or the ACT (without writing).

Scores should be sent to Williams directly from the College Board and/or ACT. Do NOT use the rush reporting service. The last possible test dates for consideration in the College Match are September (ACT) or October (SAT).

If sending a score report from the testing agency poses a financial hardship, please take a screenshot of your score report and email it to questbridge@williams.edu. Please note that Williams cannot process test scores submitted on a high school transcript.

2018-2019 CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE

Students applying to the College Match at Williams should indicate they are applying "Regular Decision" on their CSS Profile. 

If your parents are divorced or separated:

  • Your noncustodial parent must submit the online Noncustodial PROFILE using the login ID and password that will be emailed to you when you complete the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE.
  • Your noncustodial parent must also submit copies of their 2016 federal tax returns with all schedules, attachments, W-2 Forms, and other earnings statements to the College Board’s Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC). Please be sure to share your IDOC ID with your non-custodial parent. Note that the IDOC service does not become available until November 1, 2017.
  • If you do not have any contact with your noncustodial parent, then you may submit a request to waive the requirement of their financial information. Download the Noncustodial Parent Waiver Petition.

Optional Supplements

 

  • Visual/Performing Arts Portfolio. If you have a well-developed talent in the arts, samples of your work can be submitted via SlideRoom for review by Williams faculty. 
  • Scientific Research Abstracts. If you have pursued significant scientific or mathematics research and are considering a research or academic career, we welcome brief descriptions of your work. Materials can be submitted via your application, or by email to applicationmaterials@williams.edu.

Options following the Match

Early Decision

Finalists who do not match may apply Early Decision to Williams. 

Applicants interested in Early Decision must email questbridge@williams.edu by 5pm Eastern Standard Time on December 4 to be considered.

Regular Decision

Follow the instructions below to apply through Regular Decision.

Regular Decision Requirements:

Step 1: Select Williams on the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form on your Application Management page between November 6 - December 11. Only check the box if you fully intend to submit a complete application to Williams (including all of the materials detailed in the table below).

Step 2: Submit all additional required application and financial materials to Williams according to your status by the deadlines listed below.

QuestBridge Midyear Report
Deadline: Feb. 15

Application Fee

If you apply via the Common Application, on the Williams-specific section you will be asked "Do you intend to use one of these school-specific fee waivers?" Please select "Applying for a Williams College Fee Waiver."  As a QuestBridge applicant, your fee waiver request will be automatically granted.

If you apply via the Coalition Application, use the fee waiver code: Williams Fee Waiver. As a QuestBridge applicant, your fee waiver request will be automatically granted.
