Finalists who rank Harvard College

If you are a Finalist who ranked Harvard College, your National College Match application will be sent to Harvard College, and you will need to submit the following requirements to the school by November 1. If you have questions after reviewing the information below, please reach out to the school directly.

Requirements

Harvard College Application Status Portal Activation

QuestBridge will send Finalists’ applications to college partners on October 21, and Harvard College may need a couple of days to import them into their system. Once processed, Harvard College will then email you instructions to log in and activate your applicant portal, where you can track the status of the materials you submit.

Harvard QuestBridge Supplement

Once you have activated your Harvard Applicant Portal, please immediately submit financial aid identification information in your portal. Your Social Security Number and a few other pieces of biographical data are needed so that your CSS Profile can be accurately matched with your QB application.

The rest of your Harvard QuestBridge Supplement must be completed and submitted by November 1.

Official Transcript(s)

Duplicate transcripts are not required for National College Match consideration. All students, including those who match with Harvard, will be required to submit the QuestBridge Midyear Report when it is available, typically in January or February of their senior year. Midyear reports will require first semester or first trimester grades.

All enrolling students will be required to submit a final transcript and a Common App or Harvard-specific Final School Report no later than July 1.

Test Scores
Self-Reported or Official Reports

SAT code: 3434
ACT code: 1840

Harvard College requires the SAT or ACT to meet its standardized testing requirements. In exceptional cases when those tests are not accessible, one of the following can meet the requirement: AP Exam Results, IB Actual or Predicted Scores, GCSE/A-Level Actual or Predicted Results, National Leaving Exams Results or Predictions. Any testing results can be self-reported on the Harvard QuestBridge Supplement. If admitted, you will be required to submit official test scores.

2027-2028 CSS Profile

CSS code: 3434
Available Oct. 1

Please select "Regular Decision" as your admission application type. If you accidentally select a different round, please do not worry – your information will still be sent. There is no need to correct that selection on the Profile or to contact Harvard to correct it.

  • If your parents are married to each other or live together, they will file one CSS Profile.
  • If your parents are divorced, separated, or were never together, each parent must submit their own CSS Profile.
  • If you do not have a relationship with one parent or are unable to ask a parent to send in their financial information, you can submit a Parent Waiver Request. You can read more about the waiver request process here. Please don't assume that a parent will not be included in the financial aid process - you need to actively request to have their participation in the financial aid process waived.

2025 Federal Tax Returns and Forms for Custodial and Non-Custodial Parent (if applicable)

After you submit your CSS Profile, you will be able to access the College Board's IDOC Service, through which you will need to upload the following, for both parents and/or households:

  • Parent 2025 federal taxes with all schedules and attachments, along with all W-2 forms and other earning statements. If one or more parents are not required to file taxes according to IRS guidelines, complete the Harvard Parent Tax Non-Filer Statement for each parent, including documentation of their income.
  • If your parents own a business or farm, include full 2025 partnership and/or corporate tax returns along with a completed Business/Farm Supplement  for each business.
  • If you have anything else you need to explain to us about your finances or your family's living situation, please use the additional information section in the CSS Profile.

Remember, your non-custodial parent must also submit copies of income taxes and other documents listed above using College Board's IDOC Service, unless you have submitted a Parent Waiver Request.

2027-2028 FAFSA

FAFSA code: E00468

Available October 1

Please submit the FAFSA directly to Harvard as soon as it is available. Only students who are US Citizens, Permanent Residents, or other Eligible Non-Citizens will file the FAFSA.

Early Decision

Finalists who are not matched with any college or university may not apply in the Restrictive Early Action round. Unmatched finalists who wish to apply during the Regular Decision round should list Harvard on the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form.

If you are a Finalist not ranking any colleges (meaning you are not participating in the College Match), you may apply to Harvard through the Restrictive Early Action round (which is non-binding) which has a deadline of November 1, or the Regular Decision round which has a deadline of January 1.

All students are eligible for the same financial aid program which meets all students’ demonstrated need.

Regular Decision

All Finalists who rank Harvard but did not match with a binding college should list Harvard on the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form to have their application to Harvard considered during Regular Decision. Please submit any additional information or relevant updates through the Applicant Portal. Finalists should not submit a Common Application or a Coalition Application.

If you no longer wish to be considered for admission to Harvard College, you can withdraw your application via the Applicant Portal.

Regular Decision Requirements:

Step 1: Select Harvard College on the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form on your Application Management page between November 4 - December 11. Only check the box if you fully intend to submit a complete application to Harvard College (including all of the materials detailed in the table below).

Step 2: Activate your Harvard College Applicant Portal. QuestBridge will send Finalists’ applications to Harvard College on December 16 and Harvard College may need a couple days to import them into their system. Use the Harvard College applicant portal, sent to you via email, to track the status of your materials you submit to Harvard College.

Step 3: Submit all additional required application and financial materials by the applicable deadlines directly to Harvard College as detailed in the table below.
