Policy on Outside Funding

Outside funding reduces self-help (student contribution and student employment) before making any reduction to grant assistance.

Policy on Health Insurance

The State of Massachusetts requires all students to have health insurance, either through the college or their family. All QuestBridge Match students receive grants equal to the cost of their insurance. 

Policy on Travel Allowance

Students are expected to cover their own travel expenses as part of their contribution from summer work and/or academic year earnings. Travel allowances are based on the permanent home address of the student. 

Policy on Student Contribution

Students cover their own personal expenses, books, and travel expenses from their summer earning expectation and/or academic year earnings. The expected student work-study increases slightly in junior year. Amounts for 2026-2027 are as follows:

  • First year: $2,100
  • Second year: $2,100
  • Third year: $2,300
  • Fourth year: $2,300

Students who study abroad may take out a loan because they cannot participate in work-study while abroad.

Requirements Associated with Maintaining this Award

Students must maintain good academic standing, as defined by the institution. Students must also submit a FAFSA, CSS Profile, and submit any requested materials annually.
