Graduate School Match: How to Apply

The 2022 Graduate School Match: MBA application is now closed.

To be considered for admission with a full-tuition scholarship to our graduate school partners, your first step is to submit a free, online Graduate School Match: MBA application, which will serve as part of your application to their programs.

  • QuestBridge Alum (a National College Match Finalist who graduated from a QuestBridge college partner)
  • Strong academic profile, including GPA and GMAT and/or GRE score
  • Significant professional work experience

Successful candidates demonstrate high academic achievement and curiosity, leadership potential, diverse professional and personal qualities, and evidence of strong involvement in activities and/or their communities.

Application Components

  • Information about your education, activities, and interests
  • Copies of all post-secondary transcripts
  • GMAT and/or GRE test scores
  • Resume of work experience
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Personal essay and short answers
  • Rankings list

Applicants will also need to submit supplemental application materials to each graduate school partner they rank and may be invited to participate in an interview with the school(s) as part of the selection process.

Application Component Details

Applicants must upload scanned PDF copies of official transcript(s) from each post-secondary degree and non-degree granting institution they have attended. Offers of admission by the school depend on receipt and verification of official transcripts. Applicants will be required to submit official documents to the school prior to matriculation.

Resume of Work Experience
Applicants must upload a 1-2 page professional resume with all full-time experience, including military and entrepreneurial, and any significant part-time or summer employment since beginning of college. The resume should include employer name, location, dates, and titles.

Letters of Recommendation
Applicants must register two recommenders in the application. The recommendations should be written by individuals who have direct knowledge of the applicant’s performance in a work environment and can comment meaningfully. We strongly prefer one recommendation to come from a current supervisor. Recommendations from peers, family, and friends are strongly discouraged and will be evaluated as such.

Personal Essay and Short Answers
The writing components of the application aim to help QuestBridge and our graduate school partners understand who you are, where you come from, and where you are going.

In addition to a few short answer questions, applicants will need to write an essay in 800 words or less in response to the following prompt:
We are interested in learning more about you and the context in which you have grown up, formed your aspirations, and accomplished your successes. Please describe what has shaped you and your aspirations.

Applicants will be able to submit their rankings via a form found on the manage page of their application. By ranking schools, applicants will be considered for admission and a full-tuition scholarship at the schools they rank, in order of preference. Applicants who “match” (admitted in an early round with a full-tuition scholarship) will be matched to the school highest on their rankings list that also wanted to match with them. Applicants will receive Round 1 decisions from schools they ranked but did not match with. Since the Graduate School Match is non-binding, we encourage applicants to rank any school they would consider attending in order to maximize their options.

All of our graduate school partners require an interview for admission. Please visit the individual school websites to learn about the interview process. Once the application and supplements are submitted, the school may contact you directly to schedule an interview as appropriate.
