The Common Application with Brown Writing Supplement, and all supporting documents

Submit along with official transcripts, Secondary School Report, and two teacher recommendations.

Select the "Regular Decision" option on the Common Application (not "Early Decision").

Choose the "QuestBridge" option under fee waiver when you complete the Common Application.

Request official scores from the College Board and/or ACT. Do NOT use the rush reporting service.

Applicants can satisfy Brown's testing requirements in one of two ways:

  1. The SAT with essay; OR
  2. The ACT with writing

Applicants can satisfy Brown's testing requirementes in one of two ways: (1) either the SAT with essay or (2) the ACT with writing. Brown recommends, but does not require, the submission of two SAT subject tests of your choice.

2018-2019 CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE

All applicants are required to complete the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE.  After submitting the CSS PROFILE, a student may receive a request from the College Board to upload additional information to the College Board Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC). If you do not receive a request, the Office of Financial Aid has enough information to provide an estimated financial aid award at the time of admission. A request for additional information should not be interpreted as an indication of a pending College Match.

U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Although the FAFSA determines federal aid eligibility, it is also necessary, along with all other application materials, before Brown University Scholarship can be offered. The FAFSA is not required for Undocumented/DACA or international students because these students are not eligible to apply for federal aid.

Options following the Match

Early Decision

Finalists who do not match cannot be considered for admission through Early Decision to Brown, but instead will be automatically considered in the Regular Decision process.

Regular Decision

All Finalists who rank Brown for the College Match, but did not match to a binding college will automatically have their applications moved into the Regular Decision process. Please submit ONLY your Mid-Year Report and any relevant updates.

If you no longer wish to be considered, please contact the Admissions Office to withdraw your application (see Contact Information below). 

Regular Decision Requirements:

Step 1: Select Brown on the QuestBridge Regular Decision Form on your Application Management page between November 6 - December 11. Only check the box if you fully intend to submit a complete application to Brown (including all of the materials detailed in the table below).

Step 2: Submit all additional required application and financial materials to Brown according to your status by the deadlines listed below.
