Policy Regarding Outside Scholarships
Students are encouraged to pursue outside scholarships to help finance travel, personal, and health insurance expenses. Outside aid which exceeds these budgetary items may be used to replace federal work study expectations during the academic year. Any scholarship aid in excess of these amounts will reduce Pomona Scholarship dollar for dollar. Federal and state grants are not considered as outside scholarship assistance.

Policy on Travel Allowance
*The amount of travel included in the financial aid budget is dependent on the student's permanent home address. Grant aid is not provided for this cost of attendance.

Policy on Health Insurance
**Pomona provides grant assistance for half the cost of health insurance. Students may request a loan for the second half or use outside scholarship funds to cover the other half.

Requirements Associated with Maintaining this Award
Students must reapply for aid each year and maintain satisfactory academic progress toward graduation to remain eligible for financial aid. Aid is only guaranteed for 8 semesters. Additional semesters of aid are available, if needed, but will include loans as part of the package.

Other Details
Total grant provided will cover tuition, fees, room and board.  A medical grant will be provided for half of the cost of insurance if enrolled in college plan.  A start-up grant of $500 will be provided in the fall of the first semester of enrollment to assist with move-in expenses.
