University of Southern California

As a member of the Trojan family, University of Southern California students experience a combination of liberal arts and professional education through one or more of the 150 majors offered through the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences or one of USC’s 17 professional schools.  No matter what your academic and career interests are, you can find a major or activity of interest to you.

For research opportunities, participate in SOAR, a program that allows undergraduate students to work as research assistants in a USC faculty member’s project and be mentored one-on-one.  Passionate about the arts? Take classes at one of USC’s six world-class art schools. Explore the world throughout your college career via study abroad programs that range from the traditional to the entirely unique.

There are a variety of activities you can engage in outside of the classroom as well.  USC’s strong school spirit is evident through its 1,000+ student clubs and organizations offered on campus, recreational sports and outstanding NCAA Division I athletics. At USC, you will also be supported by our alumni, numbering more than 375,000 worldwide, through mentorship and networking opportunities.

Two fun facts about USC: First, the school’s athletic teams adopted the Trojan as a mascot in 1912, after a Los Angeles Times sportswriter likened the fighting spirit of USC athletes to that of the ancient Trojans. Second, prior to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Trojan athletes have won 288 Olympic medals, more than any other university in the country.
