Director of QuestBridge Scholars Network, Student Relations

QuestBridge is searching for a creative, dynamic, and entrepreneurial Director to join our team and lead the ongoing development and strategic vision for our QuestBridge Scholars Network (QSN).  

The Director will play a lead role in supporting the over 6,000 highly motivated and intelligent college students who are enrolled at QuestBridge’s college partners. He or she will create a vision for the direction of the QSN, design the strategy for supporting our students, and continuously innovate on our current programming and operations.

The Director of the QSN is a full-time position that will report directly to the COO of QuestBridge. This position offers a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting and developing students during their college years, enjoys interacting with students, and is energized by thinking strategically about programming.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Build strategic vision for QSN to make a meaningful impact on QuestBridge Scholars across the country.
  • Create programming to foster a sense of community, cultivate leadership skills, and positively impact identity development and growth for QSN community.
  • Oversee all operations for program execution, including using tracking, analytics and new strategies to innovate and raise the bar on current programming.
  • Develop deep understanding of our Scholars and apply this knowledge to continuously innovate programming.
  • Travel to college campuses for conferences, gathering, and summits to interact with students and build relationships with key administrators on college partner campuses.
  • Be a part of QuestBridge’s leadership team to envision and build organization-wide strategies, develop staff, and represent the QSN team point of view in discussions.
  • Manage, motivate, develop, inspire, and support the development of members of the QSN team, understanding the skills, energies, and challenges of each individual.
  • Collaborate with other teams to innovate, scope and create new programs, and improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Oversee an annual program budget, including department spending and expenditure approvals.
  • Participate in other QuestBridge and Student Relations team initiatives such as: annual conferences, application reading, innovation groups, etc.
  • Perform other administrative and miscellaneous tasks as needed.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least seven years of full-time professional experience
  • Passion for and knowledge of issues in college student development ideally related to high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds
  • Experience working with and relating to college students from various backgrounds
  • Strong comfort with technology and data, with the ability to evaluate and advance current operations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with superior writing and editing ability
  • Curiosity and excitement for innovation
  • Significant experience with program oversight, with a proven track record of successfully working with key managers and outside constituents
  • Experience supervising and managing others
  • Heightened sensitivity to students from diverse backgrounds and a strong track record of handling sensitive personal information and situations
  • Ability to travel 5+ times annually

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in relevant field
  • Knowledge of highly selective college admissions and financial aid processes
